About Brave Farm

Straight from Haiti to your kitchen.

Brave Farm is more than a store. It is a piece of lakay, a taste of home, and a way to share the richness of Haiti with families everywhere. Most of what we sell comes directly from the island: djondjon, cinnamon and star anise, vanilla and noyau essence, cacao, coffee, cassava flour, and the dried leaves families have cooked with for generations.

Each product is chosen with care and carries a story of tradition, perseverance, and pride. We work directly with growers and small producers, pack everything fresh in Brooklyn, and ship nationwide. Almost every item is also available in bulk at a discounted price, and we keep adding products the community asks us for.

Meet the Owner

Erica N. Brutus

My name is Erica Brutus, and I am proud to be born and raised in Haiti, a country of rich traditions, strong family values, vibrant colors, and unforgettable flavors. My journey has taken me from Haiti to Canada, and eventually to the United States. But no matter where life has carried me, Haiti has always remained in my heart.

In 2014, I returned home to open my bakery and work alongside my parents. I wore many hats, as an executive assistant, human resources manager, and farmer, but above all I was a daughter helping build something meaningful with my family. Those years taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and the beauty of doing things with care and intention.

In 2022, after a frightening experience that placed my children and me in danger, I made the difficult decision to return to the United States. Through that challenging season, I found strength in what I know best: Haitian culture, Haitian products, and the love we put into everything we share. That is how Brave Farm was born.

Every order that leaves Brave Farm is packed by my own hands, with the same love I would give to my own family. Thank you for supporting my journey, my family, and Haitian makers and traditions.

Avèk lanmou, with love, Erica Brutus.

Good to know.

Keep the pouch sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Stored properly, dried mushrooms, leaves, and spices keep their aroma for a long time.

We are always adding what the community asks for, including pikliz, chiktay, Haitian honey, asowosi powder, and a variety of dried leaves. If you do not see it, reach out and we will let you know when it is in.
